Abstract

This collection of articles dedicated to Stanislav Mikhailovich Prozorov, a prominent Russian expert in Islamic studies, one of the founders of the Saint Petersburg school of Russian Academic Islamic studies, includes the articles of Russian and foreign researchers, most of whom are peers, colleagues and students of S.M. Prozorov. The authors focus on different areas of academic Islamic studies: Islamic historiography and source study, Sufism, methodology of research works on Islamic studies, textology, translations of Islamic sources published in Russian for the first time, Islamic education in Russia, outstanding display of Islamic culture in Muslim countries, including the countries of the former Russian empire and the USSR (Central Asia, Northern Caucasus, Ural and Volga region).
