The work by Seyed Abu’l-Qasem Husseini, a well-known contemporary Iranian writer, scholar, translator and poet, is devoted to the typology of the Qur’anic stories in the context of the historical reality. The purpose of the research is to determine to what extend the Qur’anic stories refer to the historical reality and what is the role of symbolic and mythological elements in these stories. The book was prepared in the context of the cooperation between the International Centre for Islamic Research of the RAS Anthropology and Ethnography Museum and the Islamic Culture Research Foundation (Moscow).
