19th International Fair of Intellectual literature NON/FICTION ended

On 3rd December the 19th International Fair of Intellectual literature non/fiction came to an end. It lasted for 5 days and was held in the Central House of Artists at Krymskiy Val. As usual, many booklovers from Russia and other countries visited the non/fiction fair. The biggest book event in Moscow and Russia brought together a few hundreds of publishing houses and conducted dozens of events for the guests. The Islamic Culture Research Foundation together with the Sadra publishing house participated in the non/fiction fair for the 9th time and presented new scientific, fiction, study, non-fiction and children’s books.

On 1st December the Foundation made a presentation of its activity under the name “10 years is a history” in the Literary Café of the Central House of Artists, which coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation. Hamid Hadavimogaddam (president of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation), A.V. Smirnov (director of the RAS Institute of Philosophy), R. Maleki (head of the Cultural representative office of Iran), S.N. Tabai (general director of the Sadra publishing house), S.Yu Babenkova (research worker of the Centre of Arab and Islamic research of the RAS Institute of Oriental studies and editor of the “Islamic management. Approaches” book by A.-N. Amiri and H. Abedi-Jafari), A.I. Polishchuk (Associate Professor of the Department of Oriental Languages of the Translation department of the Moscow State Linguistic University, translator of “The Hero’s Wife” novel)  delivered speeches during the event. The presentation included demonstration of the new editions of the publishing house and discussion of topical issues raised in these books. The head of the publishing house shared his plans for the year 2018.

The booths of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation together with the Sadra publishing house attract more and more visitors every year. The range of the books keeps growing, as well as the range of questions being discussed.

This year the following books were in great demand with our buyers: 

-at the Foundation booth: “Persia: the history of undiscovered land” (A.B. Gromov, S.N. Tabai), “Islamic banking” (A. Yu. Zhuravlev), “The history of the Lakhmid State” (D.E. Mishin), “The formation of Islamic art” (Oleg Grabar), “Her I” (R. Amir-Khani), “Orientalism vs. orientalistics” (edited and compiled by V.O. Bobrovnikov, S.J. Miri), “Practical mysticism” (S.S. Safavi, 2nd edition) and others;

-at the Sadra booth: “Bukhlul’s flea” (3rd edition of the Shekarestan series), “Wild horses” (3rd edition of the Shahnameh series), “White Ear, Black Tail and others” (1st edition of the Shekarestan series), “Unknown disease” (7th edition of the Shekarestan series), “The first king in the world” (1st edition of the Shahnameh series), “One is wise, the other is wiser” (8th edition of the Shekarestan series), “Ancestors’ memory” (9th edition of the Shekarestan series) and others.

Two our books were mentioned in the non/fiction19 top lists, namely “Persia: the history of undiscovered land” (A.B. Gromov, S.N. Tabai; “Traces of times” series) was included  in the TOP-LIST FOR ADULTS, and “The first Nowruz in the world” (Mohammad Reza Yusefi; Shahnameh series) was included in the TOP-LIST FOR CHILDREN.
