Projects

• With the assistance of the Foundation and in collaboration with the Institute of Philosophy (IP RAS) and the State Academic University of Humanitarian Sciences a "Center of Islamic Philosophy" was founded and now is actively functioning, it also serves as a base for "Classical Islamic Studies" course.  The faculty of Philosophy also has an Islamic philosophy department. 
• "The Classical Arab-Muslim philosophy: an anthology", the author of which is a well-known expert on Islam, Ph.D., Professor Tawfiq Ibrahim. The book will be published by "Academic Project" publishing house.
• A scientific editing of the translation of Ibn Arabi selected writings: "Kitab Insha ad- Dava'ir", "Fusus al-Hikam", "Al-Futuhat al-Makkiya." The translation, followed by commentaries, is prepared by a Doctor of Philosophy, Senior Research Fellow of IP RAS I.R. Nasirov; the scientific editing of the book was carried out by a corresponding member of RAS, Doctor of Philosophy A. Smirnov. The book will be published as a part of "Philosophical thought of the Islamic world" series.  
• A translation of Al-Kunavi book "Miftah al-ghayb," is carried out by a Doctor of Philosophy Y. G. Eshots. The book will be published as a part of "Philosophical thought of the Islamic world" series in collaboration with "Languages of Slavic Cultures" publishing house.
• A translation of Ibn Khaldoun book «Mukaddima», is getting ready for publishing by a Doctor of Philosophy A. V. Smirnov, with his detailed commentary. Scientific editing of the book was carried out by a Doctor of Historical Sciences, senior researcher of the Russian Academy of Sciences, orientalist-arabist  D.V. Mikulski. The book will be published as a part of "Philosophical thought of the Islamic world" series.  
• A translation of Mahmoud Shabistari book "Flower Garden Secrets" carried out by A. Lukashev. is in a progress. Science editors of the book are a Cand. Sc. (Philology) and a specialist in Iranian Studies N. Y. Chalisova, and a Doctor of Philosophy A.V. Smirnov. The book will be published as a part of "Philosophical thought of the Islamic world" series.  
• A translation of S. H. Nasr book "Sadr al-Din Shirazi and his transcendental Theosophy", is being carried out by a Cand. Sc. (Philosophy) Ruzan Pskhu. The book will be published as a part of "Philosophical thought of the Islamic world" series.  
• Preparatory work for translating Ahmad al-Barki's book "Kitab al-Mahasin" by A. Margaryan is being carried out.
•  "The discourse of contemporary Arabic philosophy" monograph by Doctor of Philosophy E.A. Frolova is in a progress. 
• Preparatory work to publish a book called "Tatar educational thought (XIX - beginning XX century)" by A.N. Yuseev and translation of S.H. Nasr book "The Three Muslim sage," by a Cand. Sc. (Philosophy) R.V. Pskhu is being carried out. Both of these works will be published with the active participation of the IP RAS as a part of "Philosophical thought" series. 
• A monograph "Arabic Rethoric (khutba) VI- middle of VIII century" by a Professor of Hudzhansky State University, U.A. Gafarova is being prepared for publishing. The book will be published in cooperation with a publishing house "Istok".
• As fruitful cooperation with the Council of Muftis of Russia continues, a new book on Qur'anic exegesis by an authoritative scholar Muhsin Kiraati «Interpretation of the chapter entitled "Spider "» is coming out this year.
• For the first time a publishing house "Petersburg's Orientalism"  will present to Russian readers one of the most popular books in Europe written by Mahdi al-Qaim Muntasir and entitled "Jesus in the Quran and Hadith".
• The 5-th issue of Encyclopaedic Dictionary "Islam in the territory of the former Russian Empire" edited by Professor S. M. Prozorov. The book will be released in cooperation with a publishing company "Oriental Literature" of RAS.
• "The catalogue of the collection of Persian-Arab Islamic manuscripts' prepared by a group of researchers under auspices of A. R. Shihsaidova will be published in cooperation with the publishing company "Oriental Literature" of RAS.
• A translation of Henry Korben book "The history of Islamic philosophy" will be published in cooperation with a publishing house "Design. Information Cartography. " 
• With the publishing company "Oriental Literature" of RAS active co-operation a translation of W. Chittick book  "Sufism: A Beginner's Guide" carried out by M. Romanov and Y. G. Eshots is being prepared for publishing.
• "Petersburg's Orientalism" publishing house will publish a translation of Muhammad 'Ali Rizai Isfahani book "The Miracles and Amazing aspects of the Qur'an".
•  The third issue of the yearbook of Islamic philosophy “Ishraq” is getting ready for publishing. The book will be released in cooperation with a publishing company "Oriental Literature" of RAS.
