The Sadra publishing house with the support of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation has published a book in the photo-album format.

The work “Muslims in the Soviet Petrograd–Leningrad (1917–1991)” by R.I. Bekkin represents an illustrated history of the Muslim community of the Soviet Petrograd–Leningrad. The pictures taken in Leningrad’s suburbs and the Leningrad region deserve special attention. The album includes photo materials from public and private archives, which naturally complement each other and allow us to see the history of the Muslim community not only through the eyes of the photographer but also through the eyes of the believers.

The photo captions in the book are given in Russian and English.
